Khaled and The True Problem Obsessing Over Celebrities

I am trying to give Halle Berry a baby and no one can stop me...
"Drake"

Now, lets marinate on that statement. Quoted from the Drake featured verse on the Migos single "Versace", one can take the lyrics from face value or one can look more into it. Drake, an established MC, is known for loving the ladies. On his first album he stated his "love" for Nicki Minaj and wanting to marry her. They even had a "marriage" on one of her music videos and had a twitter marriage hoax a few years back. Proclaiming to want to give Halle Berry a baby, (despite the fact she is already married now) shows people that he in a position would do that with no hesitation. lyrics like his takes levels of THIRSTINESS (Thirsty, urban definition - Desperation) to another level. It is seeming more cool to be this way. Class is being thrown out the window for a lot of young men and now are looking like hungry drooling dogs waiting for a bone....

Lets Move on to DJ Khaled. Khaled known for his collaborative albums recently put a video with a ring wanting to marry Nicki Minaj. Now whether its for publicity or he is actually serious, lets really look at the facts. Why does he want to actually want to marry Nicki Minaj? Have they actually gone on dates? Are they even known as a couple? Are they even in Love? Why didnt he ask her on the Busta Rhymes - Twerk It video? (Nicki is seen dancing on Khaled 3.20 - 3.26 mins) We all know most entertainers have a marketing team since no one does anything free will anymore but, what was the purpose of this honestly? It has got a lot of people talking and maybe that was just the point.

The obsession with someone via an image is nothing new. Many people do it on a regular basis. People have posters on their walls idolizing celebrities. Ladies call a celebrity/musician their baby or their husband on a regular. Guys see an actress/musician they find attractive and say that's their wife or comment on her attractiveness. You see them on music videos, movies, the cameras are always on them, some people feel like they know an entertainer personally. The artist/celebrity can do no wrong in their eyes. They can say one word everyone goes crazy...the worshiping continues. Its cool to have celebrity crushes but when you actually propose to would you do it in a fashion that Khaled did, one just truly wonders why? Not only is it embarrassing, it is truly how a lot of people think these days. They don't have to know you personally, they know you over a created or projected image and think that's who you are. These entertainers are always on our TVs presenting this larger than life personality.

Overall, What does this marriage broadcast really do for anyone? 1) Creates gossip and this article. 2) It embarrasses Khaled's camp due to being affiliated with him, 3) It gives Nicki Minaj to either say yes or no in a public or quiet manner and 4) It just leaves more people looking at marriage as joke. When you view the Khaled proposal yourself here what he actually says..."I love you, I like you, I want you to be mine." Are those truly reasons to marry someone? Would he be doing this if Nicki was a non entertainer or because of this image they have created for, proposing to her live really makes him look as if he is accomplishing something? As some are waiting for what she will reply to DJ Khaled, he wins the award for thirstiest man of 2013. If he would have asked her to even go out on a date behind closed doors, she might have even said yes, but the way he handled it makes him look obsessed and now it would awkward to work on future projects together. Opinions? Comments?

Blackberry 10, just the right time or just too late?

For anyone that knows me, knows I loved my Blackberry. I had it right after i got rid my Sidekick (I cant remember which one it was and I hope you know what a Sidekick is...).  I was heartbroken when my first one was stolen. I had a temporary Samsung phone. Then, thanks to wonderful insurance, I got my BB back. Then for the past two years we began a love/hate relationship. All my friends were switching to the IPhone or Android Family bragging about what their phone could do, while I stayed loyal to Blackberry. I mean what other phone company has BBM? I could talk to my cousins and friends overseas, it was like a secret private club. I loved the fact Blackberry had a real keyboard as well.  The things that hurt me the most with Blackberry were the apps and games. Blackberry was not able to get the apps people were enjoying for those who had an Android or Iphone. That drove many people including myself away the brand. I have an Android now and I love it. Soon, the Blackberry 10 will be shipped in stores. I could go into a long essay on the specifications on the phone or whats so good about it, but I will save you the reading and the great joy of googling the phone for yourself. My question is for those remaining Blackberry survivors, Android and Iphone defectors, Is the new Blackberry 10 worth getting? From what I seen, it is a pretty nice phone. Can Blackberry come back into the market and dominate? Opinions?

P.S.

Thanks for reading my post all week long, We will be back Monday March 25th, 2013. See you then!!1

Baltimore Ravens Departures...What Does This Mean?

Ray Lewis has been the heart and soul of the Ravens defense from the beginning.  After the Superbowl victory, Lewis could now retire peacefully after his second championship ring. Baltimore fans were happy, the streets were flooded with Ravens fans, the city came together to celebrate (I will soon get into my how football could bring the world together in another post) and all was well in Raven World until....

Fans knew Lewis was retiring. People knew the Ravens had a bunch of contracts to either negotiate or let go.  People knew Flacco was going to get a new contract, but people were not ready for the other departures from the winning season. Many fans have voiced their outrage online, naming a bunch of reasons for why they felt players were leaving. When Anquan Boldin was sent to the 49ers a lot of Ravens fans heart's stopped. Boldin was an awesome recevier who along Smith made crucial catches in the playoffs. Many fans were heated especially since he was traded to a team that the Ravens defeated in the Superbowl. A lot of fans were trying to figure out what the organization is planning to do. One person, Ed Reed, NO ONE (except me...) believed he was not truly going to leave the team. Ed Reed is a legend. He is, if not is one of the best free safety's in the league. Fans just knew he was going to retire a Raven.  Now that he has left to play for the Texans, whats next for the Ravens Organization, Rebuild

Lewis was the glue that held the team together. He has done a good job but now that he is gone, its time to start over. Joe Flacco is the quarterback, the highest paid quarterback in the league. Its time for the highest paid quarterback to create some new stars on the offense. There is a whole new generation of young athletes ready to make a name for themselves. During the draft, a new generation of Ravens players will be born. Each new player and the other vets in the locker room have a new task, to make an impact.

Reed has been with the Ravens since 2002. Even though I feel he should have retired a Raven, people need to realize players like him and Boldin have been playing in the league for over 10 years. Its hard for some people to get over with the "old" and embrace the new. You never know what future legend the draft, a new trade will do to create the next generation Ravens. Ed Reed will be missed but it is time for a young athlete to step up and take his place...thanks for listening

Levels of Attraction....

For this post, we enter the wonderful dating/relationship world. People talk about dating ALL the time. One thing i have noticed, when people were younger...even present times, men/women all have a certain type of individual they are attracted to.  What attracts you to someone? Do you feel you are attracted to someone based on what you like or is it more of society's influence which bases your judgement?

If someone wanted to talk to you which was not in your attraction lines, but had every characteristic you were looking for, would turn the person down or accept them for who they are? Maybe they were overweight, a different race, complexion difference, etc, is that really important when it comes to finding someone who is perfect for you regardless on the level of attraction?

A woman could tell you all the things she does not like in a man. One would think she wanted a GQ poster boy, a model and downright flawless.  Even if she met a "good guy" (I use the term good guy sparingly because there is more to a good guy in which i will get into another post....) but not within her attraction lines, he would get the boot. Ladies want the good guy but all the perfection as stated earlier. There is nothing wrong with that, but you know someone who is or is not right for you. When you still pursue someone who is not right for you but has those preferences of attraction you like, you are in denial of your feelings. Not to mention the guy she is pursuing knows he is attractive by society standards so he knows he can get away with a lot of things. After being played numerous times she goes for the "others", the ones she was not attracted to before...the heavy set guy, a different race, different skin complexion etc. Does attraction vary on situation and experience?

This applies for men as well. (not leaving you guys out..) Guys love looking at women showing pretty much nothing on, it is just a fact. The image of perfection and flawlessness runs through our veins. The video vixens, the porn stars, the curvy bodies, the models, all those images have affected how men look at whats attractive to them. Just like women, some guys say they wont date a plus size woman, a different race, a darker complexion women etc. Men want to walk around with someone beautiful around their arm, Men say they don't want that women with the fake hair, fake this, fake that, but still are attracted to those types because that's what society draws you to like. Their are on TV, magazines, online, social networks, and women try to duplicate that look all the time. As the story goes again they aim for those model like video vixen women. they can't find them because they do not exist. Then, men go for the woman they can bring home to mom, cook them a good meal, and take care of them....the quiet down to earth woman.

Who you like is who you like. Its not my place to tell you whats right or wrong, but my biggest argument is why do people change their preferences on what they like? Why do people say they like a certain type but settle for someone completely different. Does society really have an original impact on what you are attracted to or do people really know what they want and like? Opinions? Comments?

Bow Down Controversy..WHY??

For my first post, let me get into something recent. Beyonce - Bow Down, latest track controversy, I guess everyone just forgets that Westside Connection had an song called Bow Down ages ago, People need to realize music is music, stop with the crazy conspiracy theories. Music Artists don't have any magical devil powers. If you want to blame someone, blame the music execs, the song writers, the marketing and management team, the owner of the label etc for coming up with the content, production and lyrics. I remember people said in 2005 that Three 6 Mafia, I Stay High had devil worshiping chants in the background, but it was just a sample from Willie Hutch's Tell Me Why Our Love Has Turned Cold. There plenty of songs that people have categorized in this "Illuminati" online craze for ignorant reasons. It gets annoying after while when only mostly Hip-Hop and R&B are constantly getting attacked for this. Agree or Disagree? Opinions?
